Mrs. Woodard Hankins Bryan, 95

LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, February 15 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mrs. Bryan, 95, of Lebanon and the Providence Community .

A retired school teacher, Mrs. Bryan died Feb. 12, 2009 at the University Medical Center.

A native of Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Terry Woodard and Katherine Puryear Calhoun. She taught for 40 years at Taylorsville School, at Tuckers Cross Roads and Sam Houston Schools.

Mrs. Bryan received her Masters Degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She was a member of College Hills Church of Christ, Wilson County Retired Teachers and Taylorsville Home Demonstration Club.

Services were conducted by Dr. Larry Locke with burial at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include: step-daughter Anita (Glenn) Farmer and step-grandchildren: Patrick and Lauren Farmer -- all of Lebanon. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; caregivers Mary Alice Adams, Robbie Mathis, Frances Kirkendoll, Marie and Patricia Brewington, Faye Brown, Diana Griffith, Kim Holloway and Britney Dailious.

She is preceded in death by husbands Edward Hankins, 1964, and Robert L. Bryan, 1982; siblings: Puryear and Jim Calhoun and Edna Kittrell.

Pallbearers: Don, Mike, Dwight, Rick Cornwell, Phil Petty, Steve Linville and Patrick Farmer.
