Williams scores hat trick Monday
Cumberland's Daniel Williams earned Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring a goal and adding an assist in CU's season-opener Friday, Aug. 26 against West Virginia Tech.

The London, England, native headed in a cross from Elliot Goodwin in the 60th minute to get the Phoenix on the board. Just over six minutes later Williams headed a corner kick from Tosin Abudiore and Goodwin deflected the ball into the net for the team's second goal.

He added a hat trick in Monday's 6-3 victory over Milligan College, scoring on a pass from Marty Owens in the 30th minute and adding goals in the 81st and 90th minutes as well.

Cumberland hits the road Friday, facing Reinhardt University at 6 p.m. Central Time in Waleska, Ga., before returning home next Monday, Labor Day, to take on Keiser University at 2 p.m.
