A local developer has started construction on a massive project in south Mt. Juliet with a total of 45,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and office space.
This week they announced Bank of Tennessee and Three Dog Bakery will be part of the Southtown buzz.
Will Tyner, development partner with Commercial Realty Services, said they will start this month on the bricks-and-mortar phase of the first of two mixed-use buildings to grow their Providence Station project. It includes the 100-room Marriot Courtyard Hotel that opens this summer.
CRS just announced Bank of Tennessee and Three Dog Bakery have signed on as part of the project, along with Burger Republic, a diner that committed in 2015.
"Bank of Tennessee will occupy approximately 4,000 square feet in what will be the East Tennessee-headquartered bank's third branch location in middle Tennessee," Tyner said. "And, occupying approximately 2,350 square feet, this will be the second Middle Tennessee franchise of the Kansas City-based Three Dog Bakery, adding to their existing location next to Whole Foods in Cool Springs."
Tyner said he was thrilled to have "such a strong group of tenants to anchor our first building." Their goal is to get them opened this fall.
"Our goal from the beginning with this project has been to attract tenants that provide some unique offerings, and I think these three give us a great start," he added.
Bank of Tennessee is locally owned and operated. They have 20 branches throughout East and Middle Tennessee.
"I am extremely excited to be heading up our entry into Wilson County and Mt. Juliet," said Jason Loggins, senior vice president and Wilson County market president. "Not only is this a market that continues to flourish at a rapid pace, it is my hometown and where I have chosen to raise my family. I have established many relationships over the years here, and I hope to continue to build relationships through Bank of Tennessee for generations to come."
Three Dog Bakery opened its second store in Nashville and plans to open in Mt. Juliet at this location in October. The original Three Dog Bakery opened in 1989 in Kansas City, Missouri, and was the first store of its kind with a mission to bake dog treats from scratch that pet owners could feel good about giving their dogs.
This Mt. Juliet store will be owned and run by the Kessinger family, who also lives in Wilson County. The Kessingers (Kevin, Jean and their daughter Leslie) lived in Kansas City for 13 years and absolutely love the Three Dog Bakery brand. As avid dog lovers, they are committed to helping animals in any way they can.
