State Rep. Mark Pody told The Wilson Post on Tuesday that a "big hurdle" was passed in his quest to exonerate a Wilson County man who was falsely convicted and spent 31 years in prison.

Legislation that would enable Lawrence McKinney, who was cleared through DNA evidence, to be exonerated passed subcommittee on Tuesday.
