Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. Malone, 87, of Watertown. An educator for over 40 years who taught social studies at Lebanon High School, Mrs. Malone died December 9, 2012.
Born in Houston County, she was the daughter of the late Emery and Lola Breeden Adams and the widow of the late Joe Henry Malone -- her husband for 45 years. Mrs. Malone was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a a member of the Watertown First Baptist Church and Fidelis Sunday School Class, a graduate of Austin Peay State University and Middle Tennessee State University.
Visitation 2-8 p.m., Monday and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Services will be conducted by Rev. Don Mathis and Terry Ashe. Burial will follow at Hearn Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include sons Joe E. (Selena) Malone of Knoxville and Lynn W. Malone of Watertown; sister Imogene Rye of Clarksville; grandchildren Joseph L. Malone of Winter Haven, FL, Lisa J. (Joshua Halbert) Malone of Lebanon and Zachary (Teila) Balthrop of Houchton, GA; great grandchildren Vincent Joseph Malone and Allie Lynn Malone; several nieces nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Malone is preceded in death by siblings Irene Adams Proctor and Joe, Bert and Ewing Adams.
She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers: Terry Ashe and the Watertown Senior Citizens.
