Funeral services for Mrs. Hackney are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Rev. David Hesson and Bro. Billy Trice officiating.
Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation Wednesday 2-8 p.m. and Thursday after 11 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo. Mrs. Hackney, 92 of Lebanon died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Quality Care.
Born Sept. 18, 1920, in Wilson County, she is the daughter of the late Jessie Herbert and Elizabeth Frances Williams Lea. Working at McAdoo's and First Tennessee Bank for many years, she was a member of College Hills Church of Christ.
Mrs. Hackney was a also member of the Norene Community Club and formerly a member of the Carroll Home Demonstration Club. She was a member of the Harvey Freeman Chapter #181 Order of the Eastern Star, and volunteered at University Medical Center for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bernice Hackney; infant sister Agnes Marie Lea; sister Lou Ella Knowles; and two brothers Riley and William Thomas Lea.
Survived by daughter and son in law Joyce & Kenneth Bates; two granddaughters Phyllis (Johnnie) Webb and Phoebe Zychal; great grandchildren Ashlee (Mark) Thompson, Hayley Collinsworth, MacKenzie Zychal, and Kyle Webb; two sisters, Allie Pauline Keith and Mary Frances Baines; two brothers, James Melvin Lea and Jessie Raymond (Robbie) Lea; and sister in law Hermene Lea.
Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home of Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
