Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at the Partlow Funeral  Chapel for Mrs. Denney, 88, of Lebanon. The daughter of the late Riley Benjamin Butler and Addie Elizabeth Butler and the widow of the late Ralph Denney (2006), she died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at Quality Care Health Center.

An avid golfer, bridge player, antiquer, and painter who loved her artist’s canvas, Eloise was very loyal to her family and friends. Longsuffering and committed, a hospitable and wonderful cook, Eloise welcomed unexpected guests to her table and into her heart.

Before the disease of Alzheimer’s stole her vocabulary, Eloise continually said “we all love each other.” 

The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until the service. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Larry Locke. Interment will be at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Survivors include: three children, Marilyn Denney Johnston (Terry) Blankenship, Lisa Denney (Eric) Hustedt and Randy (Leslie) Denney; eight grandchildren Ryan (Chelsea) Denney, Taylor Denney, Thomas Denney and Ella Denney, Morgan Johnston (Jared) Crumm, Trevor Johnston, Becky Blankenship Papin, Read Blankenship; great-granddaughter Oia Crumm; brothers Charlie (Betty) Butler and Bobby (Shirley) Butler. In addition to her parents and husband,

Mrs. Denney is preceded in death by son Donald Ralph Denney (1986); siblings Tat Olds, Evelyn Thompson, Ben Butler, Jimmy Butler, Joe Butler and Tommy Butler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Fellowship House, 206 S. College St., Lebanon, TN 37087.
