LAFAYETTE -- Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Feb. 17 at the Anderson & Son Funeral Home for Sergeant Dickey F. Cherry, 63, of Lebanon. Born July 14, 1949 and retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, he died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Kindred Health & Rehab in Carthage.

A native of Macon County, Sgt. Cherry was a first degree Mason in Clay County and was retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol where he began working in 1974. He was a Missionary Baptist in belief.

Services were conducted with Denny King, a co-worker with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and others speaking. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park with the Tennessee Highway Patrol serving as Honor Guard.

Survivors include: wife Cathy Lambert Cherry of Lebanon, son John Miller of Lebanon, mother Juanita Cherry of Red Boiling Springs, brothers Rickey (Charlotte) Cherry of the Moss Community in Clay County, Mickey (Tamara) Cherry and sister Michelle (Kevin) Saxton -- all of the Pumpkin Town Community.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Christopher and Cody Miller and a host of other relations and friends.

Anderson & Son Funeral Home of Lafayette was in charge of arrangements.
