'One red Stiletto' tells story of crash victim

It’s been more than eight years since the interstate crash that nearly claimed Wilson County resident, Susan Bowman’s life.

While Bowman lost both legs, partial function in one arm, time with her children while recovering, and at one dark point her will to live, she never lost the support of friends and family.

Many people who live in or around Wilson County remember hearing about the accident, but what happened following that dreadful day in July 2005 was where Bowman’s story really began.

With the help of film producer, Tim Toonen and Occupational Therapist Sheron Wilee-Ford, Bowman’s story comes to life on Friday, March 7, with the premiere of “One Red Stiletto,” a documentary that chronicles each phase of her recovery.

There are still a few tickets available to the premiere held at The Journey located at 212 Leeville Pike in Lebanon. Tickets may be purchased online at or you may pay at the door.

In addition to viewing the big screen version of Bowman’s story and having the opportunity to celebrate with her as she takes her final steps on her road to recovery, ticket holders will be treated to food and a slew of silent auction item. A portion of ticket sales will go to the 100 Club of Wilson County, a non-profit organization which assists first responders in times of need.

As an added treat, Bowman will be attending the premiere and will also say a few words to the crowd before and after the film.
