Seventeen acres of additional parking on Peyton Road will be available at the upcoming Wilson County Fair, according to fair organizers.
The additional room for parking is expected to compensate for parking now unavailable near the main entrance due to the ongoing construction of the Wilson County Expo Center.
The main entrance will not be open to fair traffic this year; however, a new entrance has been constructed to handle that traffic. Fair organizers said the Fiddlers Grove entrance, located by Daniels Market, will help handle traffic from Baddour Parkway, and two entrances will be available on Peyton Road.
Satellite parking will also be available on both Saturday evenings during the fair, August 20 and 27, at Cumberland University's football parking lot - site of the former Lebanon High School. The satellite parking area will be open from 4 until 11 p.m. and offer free bus transportation from the lot to the fair. Buses will load and unload on the northeast corner of the former Lebanon High School.
The 2016 Wilson County Fair opens its gates on Friday, August 19 at 5 p.m. and will run through Saturday, August 27. The theme for 2007 is "We Want YOU."
