ATLANTA, GA – Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, May 12 at the Oglethorpe Hill Chapel for Mr. Wright, 77, of Atlanta. Professor emeritus at Georgia Tech where he taught Civil Engineering for 32 years, Mr. Wright died May 10, 2009.
A native of Wilson County and a 1949 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School, Mr. Wright was a member of the North Atlanta Church of Christ where he served as an Elder and a Deacon.
Services were conducted by ministers Don McLaughlin and Bill Long. Burial was at the Arlington Memorial Park.
Survivors include: wife Joyce Sparkman Wright and sons Jeff (Katherine) Wright of Nashville and Jon (Kristen) Wright of Lawrenceville, GA. Also surviving are grandchildren Michael, Carter, Taylor and Garrett; sisters Foy Dell Harding and Jean Jackson – both of Mt. Juliet and France McDonald of Murfreesboro.
Mr. Wright is preceded in death by his parents John E. and Maxie Wright and brothers Milton, Edd and Wayne.
H.M. Patterson & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
