Petitions due Thursday for Nov. 6 election

Three candidates for Lebanon City Mayor have filed petitions, including incumbent Mayor Philip Craighead, David Kievernagel and Robert J. OBrien. Also, three candidates have picked up or filed petitions for Mt. Juliet City Mayor, including incumbent Mayor Ed Hagerty, Jamie Luffman and Jim Bradshaw.


In Watertown, incumbent Mayor Mike Jennings is the only person so far to have picked up a petition for that office.


Candidates who have picked up or filed petitions for Mt. Juliet City Commissioners are as follows, Jonathan Brydalski, Michael A. Gallion, Ray Justice, Robert Carver Hibbett and Robert MacClary in District 1; and Art Giles and Britt Linville in District 3.


Four candidates have picked up or filed petitions for the at-large seat on the Watertown City Council, including Brandy Baird-Holcomb and incumbent Aldermen James T. Nix, Jim Amero and Tony Lea.


Also, two candidates have filed petitions for Wilson County Commissions District 2 seat. They are Richard L. Moses and Terry Duncan. Former commissioner Stephanie McDonald vacated that seat.


The withdrawal deadline for candidates who qualify for the Nov. 6 election is noon, Thursday, Aug. 23.
