LEBANON -- Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon, September 29, 2008 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. VanHook, 59, of Hartsville.

An employee of South Tech in Lebanon and a native of Wilson County, Mr. VanHook died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Hendersonville Medical Center.

A 1967 graduate of Lebanon High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force and the U. S. Navy during Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm.

Retired from the Navy with 21 years service, he attended the Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Services were conducted by Rev. Glenn Denton. Interment was in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include: his wife Linda Stacey VanHook; mother Willa Dean Ogle VanHook of Lebanon; step-children Kim (Rob) Dell’Agnese of Donelson and Darren Danforth of Antioch; step-grandchildren Drew Binkley and John Dell’Agnese; sister Sylvia (Eddie) Fields of Lebanon; uncle Jr. (Liz) Ogle, aunt Christine Rogers and niece Denise Fields of Lebanon – all of Lebanon.

Mr. VanHook is preceded in death by his father Francis Marion VanHook.

Active pallbearers included: Eddie Fields, Mackie Fields, Pat Patterson, Brian Patterson, Crockett Carr, and James Driver. Honorary pallbearers were: Jr. Ogle and Wayne Hackett.

Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
