Pink pumpkins on sale for Sherry's Run

  Email   Print

Anyone can order a pumpkin at the Sherrys Run booth during the Fair for $12 a piece or two for $22. Smith said the pumpkins will be fairly large and will arrive in late September for a pick-up date of Sept. 29.

Smith said there are three ways to get a pumpkin, including filling out an order form at the fair booth, printing the form at the Sherrys Run website and mailing it to him or emailing your order request.

The pink pumpkins are a hybrid seed, bred to produce a pink outer skin, which has been used in other areas of the country to promote donating to cancer research. Smith has brought that idea home to Wilson County.

All proceeds from purchased pumpkins will go to Sherrys Run, the annual 5K walk/run that helps local cancer patients, their families and donates to cancer research.

Anyone who orders a pumpkin may pick it up on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the main branch of Wilson Bank & Trust located at 623 West Main Street, Lebanon.

To order a pumpkin, you may come by the Sherrys Run booth during the Wilson County Fair, visit www.sherrysrun.org and print an order form and mail it to William Smith at 813 W. Spring Street Lebanon 37087, or email pinkpumpkinproject1@gmail.com.
