Smith, Demarini Classic this weekend
Mt. Juliet prepped for an appearance in this weekend’s DeMarini Classic in Knoxville by scoring 29 runs in two mid-week wins over 9-AAA rival Lebanon High.
Mt. Juliet (15-2-1 / 5-1 in 9-AAA) will open play Friday afternoon with a 5:30 p.m. game at Hardin Valley at 5:30 p.m.; followed by an 8 p.m. game vs. Morristown West.
Saturday play finds Mt. Juliet taking on Knox Catholic in a 10 a.m. game at Lindsey Nelson Stadium the University of Tennessee.
Later Saturday at 4 p.m., MJ will play Seymour High School at Christian Academy of Knoxville to wrap up pool play.

Mt. Juliet 20, Lebanon 0
LEBANON -- Mt. Juliet took advantage of 14 walks from three LHS pitchers in Wednesday’s 20-0 victory over the Blue Devils (8-11) at Brent Foster Field.
Peyton Harris paced Mt. Juliet’s 12-hit attack with two hits and four RBI.
Starter Curt Hoppe worked two innings to get the decision for the Bears.

Mt. Juliet 9, Lebanon 1
MT. JULIET -- Senior Austin Smith (4-1) limited LHS to five hits, walking three and striking out four in Tuesday's 9-1 win. He also picked off two Blue Devil baserunners.

Marshall Gei drove in two runs for Mt. Juliet on three hits, including a double. C.J. Kastner added a pair of hits and drove in a run.

Lebanon is scheduled to play at LaVergne Friday at 6:30 p.m., followed by a 2:30 p.m. contest at Franklin County High in Winchester Saturday.
