PREP FOOTBALL -- MJ Christian falls Thursday

SEYMOUR -- Mt. Juliet Christian Academy's football team slipped to 2-6 on the season following a narrow 21-19 loss to The King's Academy Thursday night.

The Saints picked off five passes, two by Andy Pitman, one each by Elliott Lee, Nathan Greene and Landon Boyd -- but surrendered 304 yards via the air.

MJCA quarterback Rik Van Mali completed 26-of-37 passes for 317 yards, two touchdowns and was intercepted twice. Pitman led the ground game with 93 yards on 12 attempts. He also caught six passes for 56 yards.

Zack Jones caught six passes for 110 yards while Lee hauled in three passes for 69 yards and a score.

The Saints will be back in action Friday, Oct. 25 as Zion Christian Academy visits Suey Field.
