GALLATIN -- Top-seeded Beech blanked Mt. Juliet 5-0 Tuesday night in the semifinals of the District 9-AAA soccer tournament at Gallatin High.

The Lady Bucs fired 32 shots on goal and Lady Bear keepers Sarah Carter (20) and Morgan Houser (four) combined for 24 saves.

Beech took a 3-0 lead at intermission and never looked back.

"I was proud of the effort tonight we just didn't get the result we wanted," said MJ head coach Ryan Hill. "Beech showed why they were the number one seed and went undefeated in the district.

"They took advantage of our mistakes and made us pay. Our team has a lot to look forward to in the next couple of years. We had just one senior and no juniors with 20 sophomores and freshman. If they can play as a team next year they will be very tough to beat."

The loss ended the Mt. Juliet season at 7-10-1 overall.
