FRANKLIN -- Mt. Juliet Christian Academy's soccer season came to a close Thursday night as Battle Ground Academy swamped the Lady Saints 10-0 in the opening round of the TSSAA D-II regional tournament.

Abbie Kerr scored five goals for BGA. MJCA goal keeper Olivia Gonzales turned away a remarkable 30 shots by the Lady Wildcats.

"I am so proud of my girls," said coach Heather Anderson. "BGA is by far the toughest team we have faced this year. We held our own for most of the game.

"It’s amazing to look back over the season and see just how far we have come. Each and every young lady has pushed herself to be the best she can be. I’m sad to see the season come to an end, but I am excited to see what the future holds for us."

MJ Christian ended the season with a record of 7-9 overall.
