LHS eliminates Portland
Friendship Christian's Lady Commanders will take a record of 31-5 into Wednesday's East-Middle Regional Tournament at Donelson Christian Academy. Coach Jody Atwood's team will play Ezell-Harding at 5 p.m.

A win would earn FCS the right to host a substate series while a loss will sent the Lady Commanders to the Memphis area for a best two-of-three. Ezell-Harding stands 19-11 overall following a 5-4 victory over Zion Christian.

FCS clinched the district title with a 3-2 victory over The King's Academy Friday.

Courtney Petty threw a four-hitter, stiking out five. Petty helped her own cause with two hits -- including a solo homer. Courtney Miles hit a two-run homer in the first.

Lebanon 8, Portland
GLADEVILLE -- Lebanon advanced in the loser's bracket of the District 9-AAA softball tournament with an 8-7 come from behind win over Portland Monday at Wilson Central.

Down 7-6 headed into bottom of the eighth, LHS tied the score on a RBI single by Hannah Simmons and won on Megan Brown's walk-off single.

Brianna Nagelhout started for the Lady Devils and went seven before giving way to Emily Barron who pitched the eighth and got the win.=

Portland rapped out 13 hits against the ninth grade hurlers and took advantage of four walks.

Lebanon managed 11 hits against Panther pitching, three from Simmons and two from Brown. Portland pitchers walked eight LHS batters.

Improving to 11-13 on the season, Lebanon is scheduled to play Wednesday at 5 p.m. against either Beech or Wilson Central in a loser-out contest.

The Lady Devils fell into the loser's bracket with a 10-0 loss to Hendersonville Friday evening at Drakes Creek Park.

Mt. Juliet 10, Portland 2
MT. JULIET -- The Lady Bears scored four in the first and three in the second in Friday's District 9-AAA tournament win over Portland.

Hanna Shepherd drilled a two-run homer to spark the second inning push and finished the game with four runs batted in. Sisters Michelle and Kristen Mason drove in two runs each.

Savannah Sanders threw a complete game six-hitter, striking out seven.

Improving to 22-8 on the season, Mt. Juliet was scheduled to play Hendersonville in Tuesday's winner's bracket at Wilson Central.

Wilson Central 14, Station Camp 0
GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central improved to 31-7-1 on the season following Friday's 14-0 home win over Station Camp in the opening round of the District 9-AAA softball tournament.

The Lady Wildcats were scheduled to play Beech Tuesday in a winner's bracket game.

Trousdale Co. 7, Watertown 4
WATERTOWN -- A late rally wasn't enough to overcome an early hole as Watertown dropped a 7-4 loss to Trousdale County Monday in the District 8-A tournament.

Down 7-2, WHS picked up a couple of runs in the top of the seventh on a double by Amber Wright.

With the loss, the Tigerettes slipped to 15-8 on the season and were facing a Tuesday afternoon elimination game.
