Friendship Christian's softball team improved to 13-6 on the season with a tight 3-2 win over Lebanon Thursday afternoon on the FCS campus. The Lady Commanders broke open a 2-all tie in the bottom of the fifth inning as Kelsi Dickey beat out an infield single to score Taylor Patterson from third.

Katlin Eakes blasted a two-run homer in the top of the first to stake the Lady Devils to a 2-0 only to see FCS knot the score on a on two-run shot in the bottome of the first by Friendship's Tana Whited.

Courtney Petty went the distance and got the decision for the Lady Commanders, striking out five and scattering five hits.

Anna Smallwood took the loss for LHS, allowing five hits as the Lady Devils slipped to 9-7 on the season.

Lebanon High faces a pair of games later today in the Play It Again Classic in Clarksville. The Lady Devils take on Houston County today at 5:30 p.m. followed by an 8:30 p.m. game with Fern Creek, Kentucky.

LHS wraps up pool play Saturday at 8 a.m. vs. Clarksville Northwest.

Friendship Christian School’s Lady Commanders are scheduled to play a pair of games later today at Cookeville’s Cain Creek Park in a tournament sponsored by Macon County High.

FCS will take on DeKalb County today at 4 p.m. followed by a 5:30 p.m. matchup with Wayne County High.

Pool play continues Saturday morning with an 8:30 p.m. game with Cannon County High followed by a single-elimination tournament.

Goodpasture 8, Watertown 4
MADISON -- Megan Morrow's three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth lifted Goodpasture to an 8-4 win over Watertown Thursday afternoon.

The Tigerettes fell to 7-5 overall and 1-1 in District 8-A with the loss.

McKay Hill and Tiffany Tomlinson each had two hits for Watertown. Tomlinson was tagged with the loss, scattering 13 hits in the seven inning contest.
