Central assured of regional berth
GLADEVILLE -- Mt. Juliet takes on Beech Friday at 5 p.m. in the finals of the District 9-AAA loser's bracket with the winner moving on to face host Wilson Central in the tournament finals.

Coach Coach Brad Rowlett's team (23-9) was on the short end of a 2-0 loss to Wilson Central Thursday -- a meeting that found Morgan Powell cracking a two-run homer in the sixth inning for the game's only runs.

Today's winner will stay on the field to take on the Lady Wildcats at 7 p.m. for the tournament championship. Should Wilson Central lose, the "if necessary" game would be played Saturday.

Wilson Central stands 33-7-1 overall thanks in part to a stellar pitching performance by Hannah Bodenhorn who threw a four-hitter and struck out seven.

Mt. Juliet's Savannah Sanders was tagged with the loss. She gave up just three hits and struck out 10.

TKA 3, Friendship 1
DONELSON -- Friendship Christian School will travel to Madison County Thursday to take on University School of Jackson in a TSSAA Division II sectional series.

Two games will be played Thursday in the best-of-three series with the "if necessary" game to be played Friday. The series winner will move on to the TSSAA Spring Fling in Murfreesboro.

The Lady Commanders fell to 31-7 on the season following a 3-1 loss to The King's Academy Thursday in the East-Middle Regional at DCA.

FCS managed just five hits in the loss against TKA pitching, including a solo homer in the sixth by Courtney Petty.
