Rain, cooler temps this weekend

  Email   Print
From Post staff reportsThe weekend weather forecast calls for cooler temperatures and good chances for rain, or at least better chances for rain than we have experienced in the past several days.According to the National Weather Service, Wilson County can expect high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s for the weekend and rain chances as high as 60 percent on Friday and 50 percent on Friday night. While it may not be considered a cool spell, temperatures in the upper 80s are a relief from afternoon mercury readings reaching near the 100 mark.Although the heat has dominated much of the discussion about the weather, many have also been concerned about the lack of rain. Crops are thirsty as are many lawns and gardens. The Weather Service indicates Wilson County has decent chances for rain on Friday, Friday night, Saturday, and again next week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
