Ramey was arrested Thursday by Sheriff’s Department detectives in Nashville and is being held on $675,000 bond in the Wilson County Jail. Ramey was also on parole in Davidson County for three counts of aggravated robbery. He is set to appear in court on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
Wilson County narcotics investigators also reportedly found approximately 50 pounds of marijuana at Smith’s home.. The stash was described as hydro-grown, high quality marijuana with an estimated street value of $500,000.
Prescription medications were also found at the scene. The marijuana and medications were all packaged and ready for resale, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department.
The Sheriff’s Department has a key witness in the case that was reportedly at Smith’s home at the time of the shooting. The witness’ name is being withheld at this time for safety reasons.
“Our Detective Division has done an outstanding job in this case and has taken a very dangerous individual off the streets of Middle Tennessee,” said Sheriff Terry Ashe.
