Raymond J. Glassford, 72

HERMITAGE -- Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning November 25 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church for Mr. Glassford, 72, of Mt. Juliet. Retired from the U.S. Navy, he died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009.

Mr. Glassford was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday School and was a Elder for many years. He enjoyed fishing, was a former Girl Scout Leader, a square dancer and a volunteer fireman in many of the communities where he lived. He was the son of the late Herbert R. and Beatrice Bade Glassford.

Services were conducted by Pastor Keith Enko. Interment with full military honors followed at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.

Survivors include: daughters Dianne (Rick) McNeese, Debbie (Michael) Freeman, Denise Smith, Dee (Jeff) Brock and Darlene (Anthony) Windsor; grandchildren -- Ricky and Crystal McNeese, Tracy Mayhew, Raymond, Michael, Joseph and Katherine Freeman, Joshua and Parker Smith, Chris and Logan Brock and Amanda and Aidan Windsor, four great grandchildren and brother Earl W. Glassford.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jane E. Glassford and sister Ruth Glassford McCloud.
