LEBANON — Funeral services have been scheduled for 12 Noon Saturday, March 28 at the J.C. Hellum Funeral Home, 107 Stokes Street, for Mr. Raymone D. Shockley, 38, of Murfreesboro.

A 1989 graduate of Lebanon High where he starred for the Blue Devil football team, Mr. Shockley died March 23, 2009 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Rutherford County.

Shockley, a wide receiver / defensive back for Lebanon during the 1987 and 1988 seasons, was employed with Sears at Hickory Hollow Mall in loss management.

Family visitation is set for 10 a.m. - 12 Noon Saturday with funeral services to follow.

Pastor Cary W. Orr will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow the service at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include: mother Johnnie (Samuel) Hastings, father Ray Shockley, Jr.; children Marcus McCathern, De Andre and LaTaJ Bass, Jawanza Wetzel and Braxton Eddings; grandmother Thelma Shockley brother Demond Stone; God-son LaVar Johnson; very devoted ex-wife Tiffany Eddings Shockley as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Former Lebanon High teammates of Mr. Shockley have established a memorial fund in his honor at Wilson Bank & Trust. Funds generated from the "Raymone Shockley Memorial Account" will be used to provide a partial scholarship for a deserving Blue Devil football player. Donations are being accepted at any branch of Wilson Bank & Trust.

J.C. Hellum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
