LEBANON -– Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Rev. Murphy, 93, of Lebanon.
Rev. Murphy passed away on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 at the V.A. Hospital in Murfreesboro.
A veteran of the US Army veteran where he served as a chaplain, he started the First Church of the Nazarene in 1957 and served as minister.
Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday from 12 Noon until the service.
Rev. Larry Foster will officiate the services, with interment to follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: daughters Nancy (Don) Woodard, Margaret (Billy) Jones and Linda (James) Lee.
Also surviving are siblings Kenneth (Yolanda) Murphy and Pauline Brown; grandchildren Rhonda (Tim) Greenhalgh, Tammy Crabtree, Melinda (David) Wilhoite and Christina(Shane) Williams; great grandchildren Beth, Chase and Christopher Greenhalgh; Brittany Crabtree, Savannah Wilhoite and Peyton Williams; niece Robbie Gomer and nephews Ronnie Crotzer and Dennis Crotzer.
Rev. Murphy is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lizzie Trigg Murphy; wife Stella Payne Murphy; siblings Thomas Murphy, Ruby Russell, June Street, Linnie Abbott and Mary Phelps.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
