Lebanon Police Chief Scott Bowen said in a news release the clerk told authorities that a white male, wearing something black over his face and a gray poncho, entered the store and demanded money. Prior to leaving, the suspect placed an object on the counter and identified it as a bomb. He told the clerk not to call anyone or touch anything as he could detonate it from his location.

The suspect then left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash headed westbound.{phocagallery view=category|categoryid=3|imageid=421|displayname=0|float=right}

Tennessee Highway Patrols bomb squad was contacted and responded to the scene. The object left behind by the suspect was X-rayed and determined not to be an explosive device.

Anyone with information related to this crime is asked to contact the LPD at 444-2323.
