LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 11 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mr. Goodwin, 88, of Lebanon.
A member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II and the Korean Conflict, Mr. Goodwin died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at his residence.
A 50 year Mason, Mr. Goodwin was employed by the Tennessee Bureau of Criminal Identification establishing the first Firearms Lab for the State of Tennessee. He retired as Director of the Tennessee Bureau of Criminal Identification in 1979.
Services were conducted by Pastor John Hunn. Interment followed in Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: his wife of 40 years Mary Goodwin of Lebanon; children Robert (Pamela) Goodwin of Nashville, Dorsey Thomas Lunn and Martha Harvey both of Lebanon and Marie (Kerry) Syler of Lynchburg; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jennie Curry Goodwin.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
