Ruth Gillette

Funeral services will be held is 2 p.m. Friday, May 29 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home for Mrs. Gillette, 83, of Lebanon.
Born and reared in Springfield, OH, she passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in the comfort of her home.
Ruth relocated to Lebanon with her husband Howard and daughters Julia and Tina from Dayton, OH in 1963 as part of the Precision Rubber Products expansion.
The family will be receiving friends Friday from Noon until the service.
Services will be conducted by Chaplain Adam Garner. Burial will follow at Wilson County Memorial Park.
Ruth was an avid golfer and member of Lebanon Golf and Country Club since 1964 where she was Ladies' Champion in 1967 and 1976.
She was an active member of the Ladies' Golf Association which coordinated yearly tournaments to raise funds for the course maintenance and landscaping projects.
She was also a certified bowling instructor and prior member of Danny Evans' Shell Oil bowling team in the 1960's.
Survivors include: her husband of 61 years Howard G. Gillette; daughters Julia (Tony) Chaffin and Tina (John) Drnek; grandchildren Dustin Chaffin, Kelly (Art) Snyder, Jared Chaffin and Christopher (Caitlin) Drnek.
Also surviving is brother Charles (Jeanette) Stratton and lifetime friend Lucille Chance.
She was preceded in death by her father Lloyd Stratton, mother Nellie Stratton and brother Franklin Stratton.
