LEBANON -- Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, September 30 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mrs. King, 82, of Lebanon.
A homemaker and a member of the Shop Springs Baptist Church, she died Sunday, September 28, 2008, at the Cedars Health Care in Lebanon.
Born June 21, 1926, in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Marcellus and Lalla Augusta Smith Turner.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Kenneth Tramel and Rev. Brad Brandon. Interment was at the Neal Cemetery in Watertown.
Survivors include children Robert E. "Bob" (Susan) King; Charles W. King and Janet Brewington -- all of Lebanon; grandchildren, Blake (Heidi) King, Amber (Austin) Burton, Shelly (Scott) Satterfield -- all of Lebanon and Brandy King of Santa Monica, CA; as well as nine great granddaughters.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband of over 58 years Robert Walter King on May 1, 2007; sister Martha Johnson and a brother Charles Turner.
Honorary pallbearers included: Deacons of Shop Springs Baptist Church, Gene Farley, Jim Van Sickle, Kenneth and Phillip Underwood.
Active pallbearers: John Turner, Tommy Turner, Jimmy Johnson, Austin Burton, Scott Satterfield, Blake King and Tom Means.
Memorials may be made to the Shop Springs Baptist Church Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
