Wilson County, along with the rest of the northern part of Middle Tennessee, is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10 p.m., Thursday.
The Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service Office in Old Hickory said “There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms for Middle Tennessee today, with the best chance of severe thunderstorms across northeast portions of the Mid-state. Main concerns are localized damaging winds and large hail.”
There is a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon with partly sunny skies and a high of 86. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible mainly before 7 tonight. Skies should be mostly cloudy with a low near 63. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Friday should be partly sunny with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high near 83. Friday night is expected to be mostly clear with a low near 56.
The rest of the Memorial Day holiday weekend will sunny and warm with highs in the 80s and lows in the upper 50s and low to mid 60s.
