LEBANON -- A memorial service was held Sunday afternoon, Aug. 4 at the First United Methodist Church for Mrs. Sharry Baird Hager, 67, of Lebanon.
A longtime educator with the Lebanon Special Schools District, 27 years at Walter J. Baird, she died Aug. 4, 2011.
A 1962 graduate of Lebanon High School where she was a cheerleader, she was runner-up in the National Cheerleading Competition in Florida her senior year.
She was a graduate of Birmingham Southern and while there was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She won Favorite in the Miss Southern Accent pageant.
Mrs. Hager was a member and officer of the ADK Sorority. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Hager was active in the March of Dimes Foundation.
Services were conducted by Reverend David Hesson.
Survivors include: her husband of 34 years Bill Hager; children Allyson Collinsworth and Will (Holly Liter) Hager; brother Charles (Sue) Baird Jr. of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren: Ella and Hayley Collinsworth; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by parents Charles and Erma Lannom Baird.
