LEBANON -- Cumberland University senior Angela Sheehan has been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference’s women’s soccer offensive player of the week for the week ending Sept. 28, 2008.
Sheehan, a midfielder from Bradenton, Fla., scored four of Cumberland’s seven goals and added two assists as the Lady Bulldogs went 1-0-1 on the week.
She scored twice in a 3-3 tie against Campbellsville (Ky.) University, including the game-tying goal late in regulation. She later played a part in every goal in a 4-0 win over Crichton College, scoring two goals and assisting on the other two.
Cumberland presently stands 4-3-1 on the season.
"Angela is an outstanding player and leader. She is a great person to have on the team. We could use four or five more of her," said CU coach Jeff Loucks.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action Thursday for a 5 p.m. at Freed Hardeman in Henderson.
