The Guynns, that of course would be Steve and Patty Guynn, have taken their unique bookstore concept to downtown Nashville.
Sherlock’s Book Emporium and Curiosities of Lebanon now has a second location to serve customers in downtown Nashville.
The store’s identity in Lebanon is being offered now at a location on Fifth Avenue almost directly across from the downtown Nashville Arcade.
When Sherlock’s, an idea for an independent bookstore generated by the Guynns first opened in Lebanon, the store was located in an old restored residential structure on North Greenwood.
Not long after a successful opening and a few months in the somewhat restricted space at the Greenwood Street location, the Guynns made a bold move and an important business decision.
They decided to expand their bookstore, build a new handsome structure and relocate to 200 Maddox-Simpson Parkway on Lebanon’s south side.
The move and the decision has been good Steve Guynn has said.
Sherlock’s in Lebanon now offers far more than just books. It’s a gathering place for those who may want to use the store’s outdoor track to race model cars or for some it’s a place to host a special occasion party in the store’s theater party room.
Just before Christmas Steve provided a brief tour of this store and made it clear that Sherlock’s is far more than just a bookstore. Although there are shelves and tables crammed with books there is also a place reserved for hobbies and even some rather serious play toys including BB guns that closely resemble real life automatic weapons.
Sherlock’s new store in Nashville will likely prove over time to be a new experience for downtown Nashville shoppers. It likely will be a perfect hangout at lunch for those interested in browsing through the book section or perhaps others looking for a puzzle or thinking of exploring a hobby.
