Shred days begin Thursday

The purpose of Community Shred Days is to give the public an opportunity to properly dispose of personal, confidential documents. Wilson Bank will host the event at two locations where documents can be deposited into locked containers for destruction, or items may be brought to Secure Shred’s shredding center.

“This is the fifth year we have partnered with Wilson Bank & Trust to offer this opportunity to the community. We receive so many calls from individuals who want to have their personal documents destroyed and this gives everyone a chance to do that for free,” said Rachel Adams, Secure Shred president.“Each year our community event grows with participants. We are so pleased our community members are taking advantage of this opportunity. Having your identity stolen is a terrible ordeal that no one wants to go through. We offer peace of mind that your documents will be destroyed in the secure, appropriate way,” she added.  John C. McDearman III, senior vice president at Wilson Bank, said, the bank “is proud to partner with Secure Shred to offer these services to our friends, customers and members of the community free of charge. This event is an opportunity for us to continue fulfilling our mission of giving back to the communities that have supported us for 20 wonderful years. It is also a chance to continue our efforts of educating the public on how to avoid identity theft. We hope this event will continue to grow and become a normal part of everyone's ‘spring cleaning’ to-do-list.”
