Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the J.C. Hellum Funeral Home for Mrs. Carter, 92, of Lebanon. Born Nov. 6, 1920 in the Chesnut Mound community of Chestnut Mound, she died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at Quality Rehabilitation & Health Center, Lebanon.
The youngest of five children, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Velma Winfrey Coggins. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the J.C. Hellum Funeral Chapel.
The funeral will follow with Elder Brewer Hall, Jr. serving as eulogist. Interment will be at the Mt. Lebanon Memorial Gardens.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a devoted nephew Leslie (Liz) Stewart of Dayton, OH; nephews Joe (Bertha) Stewart of Lexington, KY, William “Pete” Stewart of Lexington, KY; nieces Judy (John) Flippin of Gallatin, Yolonda Coggins of Lebanon; special cousins Zetta and Spence Talley; special caregivers Janice Waters and LaBria White; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are in the care of J.C. Hellum Funeral Home.
