Wildcats advance to district semifinals
GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central's soccer team moved to 13-3 on the season and into the semifinals of the District 9-AAA tournament with a thrilling 1-0 win over rival Mt. Juliet Monday evening.
WCHS is set to play Hendersonville (11-6-2), a 6-1 winner Monday over Beech, Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Station Camp High in Gallatin.
James Graham blasted home a penalty kick with roughly 2:30 left in the second half to break a 0-0 stalemate.
"It was a typical postseason soccer match," said Central coach Jeff Loucks. "Very tight, very hard fought, very intense. We pulled it out despite some injuries."
Mt. Juliet keeper Cole Hunter stayed busy with 12 saves while Wilson Central's Kellen Lively recorded three saves.
The No. 7-seeded Golden Bears ended the season 5-12-1
