Cumberland men's soccer will host 18th-ranked Southeastern University in the NAIA Championship Opening Round Saturday, Nov. 21. Kickoff is set for 12 Noon at Lindsey Donnell Stadium-Kirk Field.

Cumberland won the Mid-South Conference Tournament in a penalty shootout with Campbellsville University this past Friday for the program's second conference tournament championship and the first in the Mid-South Conference. CU stands 18-1-1 overall this season and reached as high as No. 6 in the national rankings.

The Bulldogs are ranked 11th in the final regular season NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll released Sunday and received the No. 9 seed in the 32-team National Tournament field. CU is making its first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Tournament.

Southeastern is 15-4-0 overall and won the Sun Conference Tournament with a 2-1 overtime victory against Keiser University in the semifinals and a 2-1 win against St. Thomas University in the finals. Pedro Ivo Dias leads the Fire with 10 goals and Gerritson Craane has dished out 11 assists. SEU has outscored its opponents this season, 54-25, and has won 10 straight outings heading into the Opening Round.

The winner of Saturday's match advances to the 57th annual NAIA Championships, which open Nov. 30 at Seacrest Sports Complex in Delray Beach, Fla.

Cumberland has never hosted an NAIA Championship Opening Round in men's soccer but has served as a host the last two seasons in women's soccer.
