Daniel Williams & Bennet Strutz
LEBANON -- Cumberland sophomores Daniel Williams and Bennet Strutz were voted the Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, on Monday for their efforts in a 3-1 road victory by the Phoenix against No. 21 Lindenwood-Belleville, as announced by the league office.
Strutz made five saves and improved to 8-3-1 in net this season in the 3-1 win.
The Leverkusen, Germany native has allowed just five goals in the last seven outings combined after some early season struggles for the CU defense. He has a 1.38 goals-against-average, ranking second in the Mid-South Conference, with 35 saves this season.
Williams continues to find ways to put the ball into the back of the net, posting his 14th and 15th goals of the year in the victory.
The London, England native scored just 6:06 into the match on an assist from Valentine Murombo and put the match away with a goal in the 88th minute from Cody Johnson.

Cumberland, ranked 23rd nationally, entertains No. 8 Campbellsville University Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lindsey Donnell Stadium-Kirk Field in the team's next-to-last home match of the season.
