SOFTBALL -- Atwood earns 9-AAA honor

District Coach of the Year -
First year Lebanon High coach Jody Atwood has been voted District 9-AAA softball Coach of the Year.

Atwood, an LHS graduate and former baseball standout at Cumberland, is in his first season as the head coach of the Lady Devils after taking Friendship Christian to the Division II-A state finals in back-to-back seasons, winning the title in 2015.

Following Tuesday's 12-2 loss to Portland, Lebanon stood 17-17-1 overall.

The Lady Devils square off with Wilson Central tonight at 6 p.m. in a loser-out game at Gallatin's Triple Creek Park.
