Senior gets win and save
GLADEVILLE -- Senior Hannah Bodenhorn picked up both the win and a save in Wilson Central's 3-1 home win over District 9-AAA rival Hendersonville Wednesday. Bodenhorn allowed just one hit and left the game leading 3-0 after six -- giving way to closer Morgan Powell.

The normally reliable Powell allowed three hits and a run before Bodenhorn came back to extinguish the two-out fire. Bodenhorn finished with seven strikeouts.

Central scored all three runs in the bottom of the third inning after Claire Smith's single was followed by a single by Brooke Pfefferle. HHS then issued consecutive walks to Powell, Katie Eakes and Kayla Varner. Morgan Stokes followed the walks with a sacrifice fly to score Powell from third.

Friendship 10, Pope John Paul II 5
LEBANON -- Courtney Petty drove in four runs with three hits in Friendship Christian's 10-5 home win Wednesday afternoon over Pope John Paul II. Petty also went seven full innings in the circle, striking out nine and allowing just six hits.

Tana Whited added a pair of hits and an RBI while Jordan Burton had a run-scoring single.

The Lady Commanders improved to 26-5 with the victory.

FCS scored an East-Middle District sweep over Knox Webb by identical 1-0 scores Tuesday.

GALLATIN -- Lebanon High's softball team improved to 8-11 overall and 3-5 in District 9-AAA with a lopsided 20-8 victory over the Gallatin Green Wave Wednesday Night at Municipal Park.

Mt. Juliet 4, Lebanon 2
MT. JULIET -- A four-run second inning proved to be plenty of offense for Savannah Sanders as Mt. Juliet held off Lebanon 4-2 Tuesday afternoon. Sanders struck out 14 Lady Devils and allowed only five hits -- including a towering solo homer by Sarah Aubuchon in the top of the fourth. Sanders helped her own cause with a pair of hits and an RBI.

Hannah Shepherd and Taylor Fletcher each produced run-scoring hits. The Lady Bears improved to 18-7 overall, 6-1 in District 9-AAA.

Watertown 12, Goodpasture 2
WATERTOWN -- A 19-hit barrage led Watertown to a 12-2 home win over District 8-A rival Goodpasture Tuesday afternoon.

Kaleigha Carter paced the Lady Tiger attack with four hits. Lauren Webster and Katie Dalton had three hits each as Webster drove in five runs.

WHS improved to 11-7 overall with the victory.
