Lady 'Cats to host classic games
Wilson Central's softball team will take a record of 6-3 into Thursday's first home game of the 2017 season as they serve as a satellite site for the 23rd annual Southern Warrior Classic.

The Lady Wildcats will play Tullahoma at 4 p.m. followed by an 8 p.m. game versus Silver Creek, Ind.

Central had a solid showing in last week's Commando Classic at Drakes Creek Park, closing out action Saturday evening with a 5-1 win over Battle Ground Academy. Kenzey Meador went 2-for-2 while Brooke Pfefferle and Laney Tucker each drove in a pair of runs.

Ashley Foster faced 15 batters to get the pitching decision, scattering four hits and allowing one earned run.

During the eight-game run in Hendersonville, Wilson Central outscored their opponents 38-20.

Claire Smith led the Wildcats with a .571 batting. Smith and Alaina Morris scored each scored six runs.
