LEBANON -- Courtney Petty and Tana Whited combined for a five-inning five-hitter as Friendship Christian School run-ruled host Lebanon High 12-1 Monday evening. Petty worked three innings and Whited two. Petty struck out six and Whited one as the Lady Commanders improved to 9-1 on the season.

FCS struck for four runs in the top of the second and put the game away with a seven-spot in the top of the fifth.

Jordan Burton drove in three runs on a pair of hits -- including a second inning two-run homer -- while Courtney Miles and Brooke Eakes had two hits apiece. All told, FCS rapped out 12 hits against Lebanon pitching.

LHS got a double and a single from Megan Brown while Sarah Aubuchon and each added hits.

Lebanon will be back in action Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at District 9-AAA rival Beech.

Friday, March 20 Friendship Christian picked up a pair wins over The King's Academy in a east-Middle District 1-A doubleheader.

The Lady Commanders won the opener 2-0 as Courtney Miles and Tana Whited slugged back-to-back homers. Clarissa Martin got the decision in relief of starter Courtney Petty.

The nightcap was no contest as FCS pounded out 12 hits in a 10-3 victory. Kelsi Dickey hit a two-run homer and Jordan Burton added a three-run shot.

Gordonsville tourney
COOKEVILLE -- Lebanon High went 5-0 over the weekend to claim their division of the Gordonsville High tournament at the Cane Creek Sportsplex.

The Lady Devils knocked off Cannon County 9-5 to open the tournament, then picked up wins over Lanphier High of Springfield, Ill. 12-1, Watertown 10-4, and 13-0 over White County before defeating Huntland 4-2 in the finals.

LHS rallied from a 2-0 deficit with a four-run outburst in the sixth inning -- keyed by a two-run homer off the bat of Brittany Nagelhout.

Hannah Simmons had two hits, including a double, while Brooke McClendon and Shelby Jones added singles.

Anna Smallwood went the distance for Lebanon to pick up the decision, throwing a four-hitter, striking out four batters.
