Hendrick & Taylor awarded scholarships
LEBANON -- Lebanon High golfer Caroline Hendrick and Friendship Christian athlete Marshall Taylor were named 2016 Wilson County Scholar Athletes Friday. The awards, along with $1,500 scholarships, were presented by the Wilson County Sports Council during a luncheon Friday at Cumberland University's Baird Chapel Friday, April 15.

Hendrick, a four-year letter winner at LHS, will be attending Belmont University in the fall with plans to study nursing. She earned a 4.2 GPA at Lebanon.

Taylor, a 4.0 student who played football, basketball and baseball for the Commanders, plans to enroll at UT-Knoxville this fall.

The two were chosen among male and female nominees from all Wilson County high schools.

They included: Justin Brown, LHS; Mary Elizabeth Griffin, McClain Christian; Nathan Green & Carly Hummer, MJ Christian; Jay Murphy & Michelle Mason, Mt. Juliet High; Bobbi Staats & Skylor Scales, Watertown; Zack Linton & Kendall Spray, Wilson Central.

The Wilson County Sports Council has been honoring local scholar athletes since 1998.
