Stafford thanks volunteers

To the Editor:

First, we would like to thank the hundreds of children who showed up on June 12 in the near 100-degree weather to enjoy our 5th Annual Comm Unity Fest. We want to thank the folks who helped and supported our efforts. It is important that we give back to our community and sincerely help others.

We were able to get support from Walmart (Doug Sheppard/manager) for their donation of the bicycle; Kroger for a gift card; Alan Reed who donated one of the tents plus came and set up all the tents. Aldi’s for the hamburgers, hotdogs and buns with the condiments. Publix gave Charis Health Center free soft drinks to hand out to attendees. Colonel Bakery outlet store provided 100 hot dog buns.

Faith Moore, Mike Justice, Mayor Philip Craighead, station one LFD Capt. Jason Baird, Lt. Chris Stockton, Alan Major, John Hubbard, Derek William Porter for the tent, the ice, mowing along with the city maintenance crew, Joe Bond and Johnson Controls, Lorenzo Seay and the Sanitation department, David Hale and Hawks Entertainment, Sheriff Terry Ashe for the trash pickup, Advance Propane for the grill; Bobby Brown, Lebanon High School football coach, for the ice bins, Ricky Thorne for bush hogging the property.

Annette Gilliam, Sharron Shannon, Tenndercare, Charis Health Care. Missy Holycross, Don Fox, Randall Hutto, Aubrey Givens, Laleta Shipper, Jackie Bryant DCS, Mt. Zion praise team, God’s Property Garden of Prayer Tabernacle praise team, Clyde's Slides, Jeff Guyton. He is the Lochinvar driver that drove the church van and pulled the trolley to pick up the kids.

Francis Garrett, Marvolyn Neuble, Kenneth Jackson, Amerigroup, Louvenia Dixon, Lori Starks, Zane Gannaway, Nathaniel Gutierrez, Wilson County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team, Monica Crudup WCSD; Lebanon Police Department, Lebanon Fire Department.

Dunkin’ Donuts donated coupons for free donuts that Jeston Gutierrez gave away during sporting events. The Cumberland University athletes who helped Jeston with all the athletic drills, etc. They are: Football Players: Michael Hagewood, Jonathan Presley, Dustin McCarter, Jeremy Hildebrant, Ervin Young. Wrestlers: Nick Sasfy, Tray Myers, Adam Myers. Basketball: Rodney James. Jeston Gutierrez with organizing the athletic events (he purchased all of the sporting equipment used) and Krystyn Gutierrez with the face painting booth. (She purchased all of the face painting supplies out of her own money so she could do this for the group.) Ricky B. The Christian Rap Artist.
