Starks charged for Lebanon, Mt. Juliet shootings

Michael Starks, 27, has been charged with five counts of aggravated assault and five counts of reckless endangerment after he opened fire on a Lebanon man and also shot at a vehicle on I-40 on Thursday night.

Thirty minutes after Lebanon Police Officers responded to the call about a shooting on South Maple Street in Lebanon at 4 p.m., Mt. Juliet Officers responded to another call about a vehicle being shot on I-40 westbound at the 225 mile marker. The victims vehicle was occupied with three adults and two children. No one was injured during the incident.

Investigators confirmed that the Lebanon shooter, Starks, was also responsible for the shooting on I-40 that followed.

Starks is in jail and his total bond on the Mt. Juliet charges is $1,000,000.

The victim of the South Maple shooting, 21-year-old Desmine Watts, was pronounced dead after arrival at University Medical Center in Lebanon on Thursday night.
