Starting a new year in the classroom

  Email   Print

Wilson County, and in this I include our Lebanon Special School District, has taken major steps forward, actually leaps forward, to ensure that our children are afforded the opportunity to attend only the very best schools.

Strong commitments have been made by legislative bodies to build new schools all across the county and soon to this list will be added a new Watertown High School.

We should be ever mindful however that while bricks and mortar are important, the real value in a classroom comes from the teacher who is charged with the responsibility of educating our young. And in this area we, too, are fortunate.

The proof, you might say, is in the pudding.

Recently published test scores showed that our local teachers are doing their part. More now than ever before our young students are gaining an edge in classrooms all across Wilson County.

We congratulate the teachers and students on their recent accomplishments and wish for a very good new year in the classroom.
