Tennessee state lawmakers Sen. Mae Beavers, Rep. Mark Pody and Rep. Susan Lynn recently attended the Wilson County Valedictorian and Salutatorian Luncheon to honor top graduating seniors of eight local high schools.

"No one achieves success completely on their own," Beavers said. "These students are here today because of their drive, ambition and determination. But we must also remember that they have achieved such high honors because of the support of their parents, their teachers and their community."

Those in attendance at the annual luncheon, sponsored by D.T. McCall and Sons, included A.J. McCall and Wilson County Director of Schools Dr. Donna Wright. The valedictorians and salutatorians from Friendship Christian School, Heritage Christian Academy, Lebanon High School, Mt. Juliet Christian Academy, Mt. Juliet High School, Watertown High School, Wilson Central High School and Wilson County Visual online School (TVOLS) were present.

"It is an honor to be surrounded with young men and women of such excellence," Beavers noted. "It gives me confidence to know Tennessee's future is in very exceptional hands."

Each of the 19 students was honored with a resolution during the 109th General Assembly to commemorate their academic accomplishments.
