LEBANON -- A number of local community and church leaders are planning a special service to remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

The service, to be held on Stroud Gwynn Field on the Castle Heights campus -- immediately behind the main office of Wilson Bank and Trust on West Main Street, has been titled a Day of Remembrance and Prayer.

The special event in recognition of the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Pastor John Hunn of Immanuel Baptist Church, Kevin Owen of College Hills Church of Christ, Steve Wilson, a retired Colonel in the Tennessee Army National Guard, and other church and community leaders are formulating plans for the event.
