Students encouraged to apply for Chamber scholarships

The Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce's Business & Education Coalition is currently accepting scholarship applications. Qualifying students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), an essay, two letters of reference and all requested information on or before 4 p.m., April 22.

The Dr. Robert Carver Bone Scholarship is a one-time $500 scholarship to be matched by Cumberland University and awarded to qualifying incoming, full-time freshmen at Cumberland University. Students must be Wilson County residents with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA and a minimum ACT score of 20 or SAT of 1060.

The Mike Baker Scholarship is a one-time $1,500 scholarship to be matched by Cumberland University and awarded to transferring or returning full-time students at Cumberland University. Students must have a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA.

The Beulah Garrett Scholarship is a one-time $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to full-time freshmen who have been accepted to a university in the state of Tennessee. Qualifying students must be Wilson County residents with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA.

The Chick-Fil-A Scholarship is a one-time $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to full-time freshmen accepted to a university in the state of Tennessee. Qualifying students must be residents of Wilson County and full-time students at Lebanon High School with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA.

The Ernie Garrett Scholarship is a one-time $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to full-time freshmen who have been accepted to a university in the state of Tennessee. Qualifying students must be residents of Wilson County with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA.

Scholarship details and applications are available on the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce website at www.lebanonwilsonchamber.com or by calling (615) 444-5503. The FAFSA is available for free at fafsa.ed.gov.
